Just getting started with pétanque competitions and unsure which boule to choose? The Obut Match Carbone is the ideal boule for beginners in competitive pétanque. This versatile triplette from Obut allows players to perform both solid direct hits and accurate high lobs with ease.
This is the most affordable competition boule from Obut. It's designed for players who have yet to determine their preferred position (pointer, shooter, or all-rounder). It offers excellent value for money — perfect if you're looking for your first set of petanque boules.
Made of carbon steel, this semi-soft boule offers a good grip in the hand. It has decent balance and performs well on all types of terrain. Initially, the triplette may feel like it releases too easily — this is due to the surface finish applied by Obut. If you don’t enjoy this sensation, give it some time; the layer naturally fades with use over a few weeks.
Color: Satin black
Material: Carbon steel
Hardness: Semi-soft (120 kg/mm²)
Diameter: 71 mm to 76 mm
Weight: 650 g to 730 g
Warranty: 3 years
The Obut Match Carbone is approved by the FFPJP, making it competition-ready. Despite its low price, its durability remains respectable. This triplette is available on Pétanque Web. With your purchase, you'll also receive a jack (cochonnet), a fabric pouch, and a warranty card.
Carbon steel is prone to oxidation, so it’s important to maintain your Obut Match Carbone boules properly. Clean them dry using a polishing cloth, followed by a wash with soap and water. Once clean and dry, apply Obut maintenance spray. If you don’t have the spray, vaseline or lubricating oil will work as substitutes.
