Before talking about the petanque ball itself, it's important to introduce Diego Rizzi. A renowned petanque player, he holds a record of 67 points in precision shooting, making him one of the best shooters today. To honour this Italian champion, Boulenciel launched the RD competition boule by Diego Rizzi.
Being a very soft boule with a hardness of 110 kg/mm², this limited edition triplet offers many advantages for shooters. However, if you are a pointer who likes to lob or roll your boules, this model can also be suitable for you.
The RD by Diego Rizzi features all the elements of a premium petanque boule. Its performance is excellent in direct shooting as well as in soft pointing. These favourable reactions are due to the use of very soft carbon steel, allowing the boule to absorb shock effectively.
Another key feature is the balancing. Boulenciel is known for producing the most balanced competition boules in the world. This is the result of a unique technical process involving machining both the inner and outer sides of the boule, followed by final precision correction, all done using CNC machines.
Boulenciel produces only competition-grade boules. Like all its triplets, this one is approved by the FFPJP, meaning it can be used in both national and international competitions. Note that the black varnished finish tends to fade over time. If this happens, don’t worry—the loss of the protective layer does not affect the quality of the boule.
Soft boules tend to mark more easily. To extend the life of your RD by Diego Rizzi, it’s essential to maintain them properly: clean with a cloth after each game, dry them well after washing, and apply gun oil or vaseline from time to time.
